How to remove the Privacy Protection Pin (PPP)

The privacy protection pin is the code that protect your device from being used after it get stole, it is mostly set on the sim card that the phone was purchased with. Once the phone get stolen, it will be useless until the privacy protection pin is removed. The privacy protection pin cannot be removed by hard resetting the phone because the ppp is store in a partition whereby hard reset does not format. It is store on the user data partition.

Here im not helping the thieves im helping the people who just forgot their ppp and now they are locked out of their phones. Maybe you just purchased a second hand phone and when you put your sim card the phone say "please enter your privacy protection pin" and you cant get hold of the person who sold the phone to you.  Sometimes a person can sell his or her phone because it has the ppp and he/she does not have the solution to it.

Remember that by trying to remove the ppp you will lose all data store on the device memory. make sure you backup your data before you start. you will need few tools to complete this process. you will need a good computer running windows os or mac. You will need a good quality usb cable, it is recommended to use the original usb cable that came with the phone or you can get another one from the cellphone accessories shop. The last thing that you need is your locked phone.

Now on your computer go to www.saroms.co.za and search for you device firmware by using the search bar on top. it will depend on which cpu does your phone uses but today ill talk about the mtk device because there many mtk device out there than spreadtrum and qualcom. boot to recovery mode to see which one is yours. when you see "reboot to booloader" it means these instructions wont work on your device you will need to comment below so we can assist you.

Now download the firmware and extract the firmware on your computer. Now download the vcom drivers here and follow the installing instructions given there. Download the sp flash tool here and extract the zip file, you might need to download the winrar to helpyou extract the rar files. Ok now you are ready to work and remove the ppp on you locked android mtk device. asuming that you have finished installing the divers

1. open the extracted Sp flash tool folder and double click the "flash " green file.

2. click the "scattter loading" button.

3. navigate to your extracted firmware folder and click on the only text file that you see.

4. click open

5. click format at the top

6. check "format whole flash except bootloader"

7. switch off your phone

8. click start and connect your phone with the usb cable to your computer (you can use any usb port) if your phone is not detected try it without the battery, i have experienced this on Mobicel devices.

9. Green tick means done, remove your phone. but we are not done.

10. click download at the top. and click the download button on your top right

11. connect your phone again.

12. you will see a red bar at the bottom screen of the sp flash tool, that will be followed by a yellow bar. After the yellow bar has finished loading you will see a green tick. remove you phone and switch it on, you are done now.
